5th – 6th Graders:  One fall league, one winter league and 6 tournaments or one fall league, two winter leagues and 3-4 tournaments. Approximate Total Games: 35-40

7th- 8th Graders: One fall league, one winter league and 7-8  tournaments or one fall league, two winter leagues and 5-6 tournaments. Approximate Total Games: 45-50

Most, if not all, of our teams will play in the Predator Basketball League held at the OSA. Other league options for example would be Kellom and the Conqueror League. Games for the fall league generally start the last weekend in October and end around mid to late December. Games for winter leagues generally begin around the first of January and go through the end of February or in some cases, early March.  Teams will play more tournaments the second half of the season than the first half of the season. You can count on playing tournaments through mid to late March.

Therefore, the season begins with practices in early October and goes through your last scheduled tournament in mid to late March.

Pricing Breakdown and Payment Opportunities

The price to participate in the 2010-2011 select program will be as follows**:

3rd – 4th Graders:        $695

5th – 6th Graders:        $745

7th – 8th Graders:        $799

One way for us to communicate the reasonableness of this price to look at it on a price per hour of instruction to which your son/daughter is entitled as a member of our select program. Accordingly:

3rd – 4th Graders: $695
Summer Sunday Night Work Outs: 6 Work Outs x 1.5 hours each = 9 hours
Summer Camp: 4 Days x 3.5 hours/day = 14 hours
Sunday Night September Work Outs: 4 Work Outs x 1.5 hours each = 6 hours
Regular Season Practices: 24 weeks x 2 practices/week x 1.5 hours/practice = 72 hours
Regular Season Games: 30 games x 1 hour/game = 30 hours
Total = 131 hours

Price per hour of instruction ($695 / 131) = $5.30

5th – 6th Graders: $745
Summer Sunday Night Work Outs: 6 Work Outs x 1.5 hours = 9 hours
Summer Camp: 4 Days x 3.5 hours = 14 hours
Sunday Night September Work Outs: 4 Work Outs x 1.5 hours each = 6 hours
Regular Season Practices: 24 weeks x 2 practices/week x 1.5 hours/practice = 72 hours
Regular Season Games: 35 games x 1 hour = 35 hours
Total = 136 hours

Price per hour of instruction ($745 / 136) = $5.47

7th – 8th Graders:        $799
Summer Sunday Night Work Outs: 6 Work Outs x 1.5 hours = 9 hours
Summer Camp: 4 Days x 3.5 hours = 14 hours
Sunday Night September Work Outs: 4 Work Outs x 1.5 hours each = 6 hours
Regular Season Practices: 24 weeks x 2 practices/week x 1.5 hours/practice = 72 hours
Regular Season Games: 45 games x 1 hour = 45 hours
Total = 146 hours

Price per hour of instruction ($799 / 146) = $5.47

While we recognize that our prices may be higher than other local programs around town, please note the breakdown above does not factor-in the following additional benefits, many of which are unique to our program:

1.          Each select player in our program receives 50% off academy prices and 25% off camp prices and a free open gym membership.
2.          We have our own facility – when school districts close , other organizations practice schedules are disrupted, we generally still practice! Our state of the art facility is safe, secure, etc.
3.          We have a full time basketball director who is directly involved with each of the teams, specifically their coaches. Furthermore, Bob Franzese, OSA General Manager, is directly involved in this as well! OSA Professional staff goes to great lengths to train coaches, observe and evaluate teams, and ensure that each player is developing appropriately.
4.          Our program meets year round. We will provide consistent instruction throughout the year. We believe that our summer program is equally as important as our winter program!

**Uniform Fee: Players will also be charged a $75 uniform fee when they pick up their uniforms in September. Each player will receive a top of the line reversible game jersey, game shorts, and a reversible practice jersey. Players will keep their jerseys, and if it fits the following year, will be able to wear it the next year as well!

Fundraising opportunities and scholarships are available. We do not want to turn you away because of a monetary situation.
